Cancel or delete a live class

Scheduled a class by mistake, or need to call one off? You have two options — Cancel (keep it on the calendar, marked cancelled) and Delete (remove it entirely). Delete is undoable, so a slip is easy to fix.

Plans change. A class lands on the wrong day, a session gets called off, or you simply scheduled one by accident. The class page gives you two clean ways to handle it — and because Delete can be undone, you don't have to be nervous about it.

Algebra — Live class Sat, 14 Jun · 5:00 PM · 60 min ➤ Resend reminder ✕ Cancel 🗑 Delete
Open the class — its action bar has Resend reminder, then a Cancel / Delete row.

Delete a class

Open the class — from the Calendar or the Live Classes list, click the class to open its page. In the action bar, click Delete and confirm. The class is removed from your schedule and from your students' calendars. (Any attendance already recorded is kept for your records.)

Live Classes (or Calendar) → open the class → Delete → Confirm
Deleted by mistake? A toast appears with an Undo button. Even after it disappears, the class goes to Trash and can be restored within 7 days from Workspace → Trash.

Cancel vs delete — which to use

They're different on purpose:

  • Cancel — keeps the class on the calendar but marks it Cancelled. Students see it was called off rather than wondering where it went. Use this when a real, expected class won't happen (you're unwell, a holiday, etc.).
  • Delete — removes the class completely, as if it was never scheduled. Use this for a genuine mistake — a duplicate, a wrong-day entry, or a test class.
Cancel Algebra · 5:00 PM Cancelled Delete removed — restore within 7 days from Trash
Cancel keeps a visible, struck-through entry; Delete removes it (with a 7-day undo in Trash).

A recurring series

Each class in a recurring series is its own entry. Deleting one removes just that single class, not the whole series — handy when only one date is wrong. To act on the whole series at once, open any class in it and use the Recurring series card: Shift all upcoming (move every future class by the same amount), Add more classes, Cancel rest, or Delete series. See 'Manage a recurring series' for details.

Deleting a class that has already happened removes it from the schedule but keeps its attendance and any recording metadata. If you only want to hide a past class, leave it — finished classes don't clutter your upcoming view.
