# See who has gone quiet, and nudge them back

> Members drift away quietly. Gone quiet shows who has not taken part for a week, and Send a nudge brings them back with a note in your own words — in the app, as a phone notification if they allowed them, and by email.

## Who counts as quiet

A member of one of your communities who has not posted, replied, done a lesson, checked in, joined a class, taken a quiz or handed in an assignment for 7 days (you can change this), and who has been a member at least that long. Opening the app without doing anything is shown, but does not count as taking part.

## See them

Your dashboard shows Gone quiet with how many and who. Each community's wall shows the same under Needs you.

## Nudge them

1. Press See them and nudge. Each member shows how long they have been quiet, when they last took part, and when they last opened the app.
2. Everyone is ticked; untick anyone you would rather not nudge (Choose none clears them all).
3. Write Your words. {first} becomes each member's first name. Leave it empty for ours.
4. Press Send a nudge.

The member finds it in their notifications, titled We miss you, Anita 💛, and by email in your academy's name. It opens their community.

> **Note:** A member is nudged at most once every two days, so pressing again does not reach them twice. A member who turned these notes off is shown as such and never nudged — see When you have been away (/help/member-away-notes).

### Is anyone emailed who turned email off?

No. A member who turned email off in their notification settings gets the nudge in the app only.

### Can it send by itself?

Yes — see Nudges by themselves.

### Can it go on WhatsApp?

Yes, from your own WhatsApp number — see Nudges on WhatsApp.
