# Live class

Also called: live session, online class

> A scheduled teaching session held in real time over video, with the teacher able to present, write, question and answer — as opposed to a recording watched later.

The useful distinction from a webinar is participation: a live class expects students to speak, answer and be marked present. That means the tooling matters — a shared whiteboard, polls, a way to raise a hand, and attendance that records itself.

Recording one is standard practice, and mostly serves the students who attended: revision, and the ones who missed a week.
